The start of 2017 (the year of the Rooster!)

We have been keeping ourselves busy over the winter (although the snow did force us to take some breaks from the outside work). With this only being the start of our second year on our farm there is obviously a ton of things on our to-do list...

In the field... we have been clearing blackberries and trees to make way for some more fencing at the top of the property to allow for more livestock grazing. We have also been doing lots of dreaming and planning with land design projects; ponds and fruit trees may be in the future.

As a business... we have received our certified organic status from NOOA, the organic licensing body which we work with. We are in the process of getting our farm store setup; which will see our garage setup approved by Fraser Health and given a business licence from the city of Maple Ridge.

PRODUCTS FROM THE FARM

 Certified Organic Chicken

Our goal is to raise some of the best tasting and healthiest chicken

available. We select a slower growing breed that is pasture raised

and certified organic. Available in July, but you can pre-order now.

This unique lamb breed produces very high quality meat, not wool

(it's a hair sheep!). The meat is lean with a deliciously full flavour

which is milder than standard lamb meat. They will be predominantly

grass fed and 100% raised on pasture. We have a limited supply,

reserve yours now!

Farm Fact

Gallus gallus domesticus (ie. chicken) can lay an egg up to once every 30 hours. Although the likelihood of this and the egg size is dependent on the breed, lifestage and season. Meanwhile, Gallus gallus, the red jungle fowl (aka. undomesticated chicken), will lay less than a dozen eggs a year.

We raise two breeds of laying hens which produce a variety of colours & sizes of eggs. We sell a mix of large to jumbo eggs (minimum 750g per dozen). If you would like to try a dozen of our certified organic eggs, please let us know!
